This isn't as "artsy" as most of my other photos, but I liked how it came out.
For all fifteen of you who haven't played Portal, go play the damn game. It's the best five hours you'll spend in a puzzle in years. I transferred the Aperture Science logo from a printed image, and carved it with one of those cheesy pumpkin-carving knives that are basically jigsaw blades with handles. The "Portals" on each side were sawed out with a jigsaw, then I put white paper screens in each hold. From there, those pieces of paper were lit from each side with a pair of flashlights - a Surefire Kroma's blue LEDs for the left, and a Surefire E2E shining through an orange CD case for the right. All interior light was bleed-through from the baffles. It was raining pretty hard when I took this, so I had to rush things a little with the setup. Canon 30D 13 second exposure |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. Yeah, Portal is probably one of the highest fun:time ratios I've ever seen in a game. It's a wonderful example of addictive gameplay, show-don't-tell storytelling and, of course, some of the best pitch-black humour to ever hit the medium.
